Other Events

Dachshunds can participate in a wide variety of activities. AKC offers not only Conformation titles (Champion and Grand Champion titles) but, your Dachshund can also be titled in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Canine Good Citizen, Therapy, Earthdog, Coursing Ability, Tracking and Field. You can also add titles like Dock Diving and Barn Hunt to your dog which AKC will recognize and record for your dog. The picture below shows a wire haired dachshund going through the tunnel in a Barn Hunt trial. Note the wagging tail of this enthusiastic participant, GCH. Minsmere Morningstar MW (Stella), who is co-owned by one of our members and participates in many canine activities!

Stella shown on the right after just having earned 3 qualifying scores towards a Master title in Barn Hunt.

In spite of the short legs, Dachshunds can participate in Dock Diving, even if they do look like the canine equivalent of the Loch Ness monster when they swim. Stella winks showing us that of course she could do this too!
